Stephen O’Brien
Stephen is the Executive Headteacher of the Viridis Schools Federation. He has extensive leadership experience, having previously been the headteacher at Hoxton Garden Primary School, then Southwold Primary School and more recently Orchard Primary School. Stephen holds both the NASENCo and NPQH qualifications. As well as his current role, Stephen also works as a School Improvement Adviser for Hackney Education and is as an inspector for Ofsted.

Rachael Carr
Rachael is the Headteacher of Hoxton Garden Primary School. She has worked across all three Viridis schools at different times over the past 11 years, having joined us as a Newly Qualified Teacher. Rachael is passionate about staff development and leads on initial teacher training and early career development across the Federation. Rachael holds the NPQH, NPQLTD and NASENCo qualifications and currently sits on the Hackney professional development steering group. She has also guest lectured at London Universities on a range of topics relating to special educational needs.
Ruth Grover
Ruth is the Headteacher of Southwold Primary School. She studied English at Liverpool University before completing her PGCE at York. Ruth has been teaching for almost 20 years and as a class teacher taught across all key stages. She has travelled extensively, including teaching in Hong Kong for two years. The last 7 years Ruth has been a senior leader at Viridis schools. Ruth holds the NPQH qualification.
Felicity Headen
Felicity is the Headteacher of Orchard Primary School. She has been teaching for almost 20 years and has a wealth of experience in Early Years’ Education. Felicity graduated from University College London with a Geography degree before going on to train to teach at Cambridge University. She also holds the NASENCo qualification and has served as a staff governor. Felicity is proud to be a Hackney resident with both her children attending Hackney primary schools.

Giuseppa Colella-Mare
Giuseppa moved from her native Italy to London in 1984 with an Italian Accounting Degree. She also holds a qualification in School Business Management. She has been working in schools as a Business Leader for the last 25 years, she enjoys deploying her skills to benefit the local children, she develops strategies and plans for effective utilisation of the schools’ resources and manages financial, premises and administrative functions of the schools in the federation, ensuring all the schools’ assets and systems support the federation objectives.

Beverley Shore
Beverley started as the Office Manager at Hoxton Garden, but over time developed her skill set and responsibilities to become the Federation School Manager. She is responsible for the administrative function of the three school offices and all premises across the schools. She has qualifications in Business Management, Health & Safety, Safer Recruitment and Safeguarding. Beverley also has experience in governance and was previously chair of governor’s at her son’s school.

Daniel Amel
Daniel is the Technology and Systems Manager at the Viridis Schools Federation. He manages the technology infrastructure and systems across the three schools, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Daniel supports staff and students with IT solutions and helps drive the use of technology and computing to improve teaching and learning. He is committed to making sure that technology meets the ever developing needs of the federation.

James Mulvany
James is the federation lead for Physical Education and Sport. He is also a class teacher and phase leader at Hoxton Garden Primary School. Born in Hackney, James attended St Dominic’s Primary School in Homerton, before eventually going on to study Sports Management and then his PGCE. In his federation role, James offers specialist one to one support to early career teachers and teachers new to Viridis Schools. Most recently James secured all three schools the Quality Mark for Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity.
